Join us for a singing and song writing workshop with community song leader, Jane Lewis, on Sat 22 November; the second of two workshops we’re holding to create together a new wassail song for the Neighbouring Orchard project. You don’t need to have come to our first workshop to take part. The new song will then be performed at a public wassailing event on Saturday 24th January 2026.
Wassailing is an ancient pagan tradition that has been practiced for centuries. It is carried out in the winter months when the trees are bare. It is an occasion of singing, drinking and merriment, where bad spirits are warded off from the orchard and good health for the apple trees is bestowed.
Tickets are by donation and free places are available. The workshops are open to anyone interested in getting involved. No singing or songwriting experience necessary. This will be a fun, welcoming workshop, hosted by an experienced community song leader.
