Join Susan for a 2-hour workshop where you’ll create your own beautiful appliqué and embroidered hoop picture.
The session will begin with a demonstration of various embroidery stitches, giving you the skills to add texture and detail to your design. You’ll then move on to designing your picture, with the option to use templates and a light box if desired. Learn how to use double-sided fusible to securely attach fabric to your base, then get creative with adding
stitches, beads, buttons, and other embellishments.
Susan will also guide you through finishing your hoop, so it’s ready to hang.
All materials and tools will be provided.
This workshop is beginner-friendly, suitable for ages 12+ (under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult).
Your Host
Susan is the founder of Wee Susie Stitches, a business she has been running for 12 years. For the past 6 years, she has shared her expertise by running workshops, helping others develop their skills. Susan is part of a group that stitched a panel of the Great Tapestry of Scotland and more recently played a key role in co-ordinating a community quilt project. Her work is deeply focused on preserving memories and encouraging creativity.
