Join Portobello Photography School’s founder and tutor Alicia Bruce for an afternoon of outdoor dog photography culminating with Porty’s Dog Show.
We will look at approaches, techniques and tips for photographing dogs. This fun workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, experienced photographers and smartphone users.
This workshop is for adults but children aged under 16 can attend with an additional paying adult (one ticket per person).
Accompanying adults are responsible for their booked under 16s.
SCHEDULE
1.00pm: Meet at Portobello Townhall Foyer & Registration, Tutor Alicia will introduce herself and give a brief talk about a history of some dog photography and depictions of dogs.
1.30pm: Head to beach to meet and photograph some of Portobello’s dogs Composition & interactions. Tips and techniques, Tutor and peer feedback
2.15pm – 2.45pm: BREAK TIME (30 mins)
2.45pm: Meet at Portobello Community Garden on Promenade to get ready for the Dog Show
3.00pm – 4.30pm: Porty’s Dog Show, Portobello Beach – Portobello Community Garden. Alicia will be on hand for support and feedback
4.30pm – 5pm: Recap, peer and tutor feedback and celebration
PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING…
A DSLR camera, mirrorless or any another camera with a cleared memory card with battery fully charged AND/OR a smartphone with battery fully charged.
Dress for the changeable weather in Edinburgh. Wind and waterproof items are recommended. The tutor will likely be in waterproofs and wellies.
