We’re very pleased to welcome Portobello-based writer Adam Ramsay to the bookshop for the launch of his brand new book, Abolish Westminster: Britain’s Broken Political System and an Argument for a New Democracy , on the eve of its publication! A searing work of political analysis, Abolish Westminster makes the case that most people are in fact correct: our politics is broken.

Ramsay will be in conversation with comedian, writer, podcaster and filmmaker Josie Long.

There will time for an audience Q&A during the event and the conversation will be followed by a book signing.

Go to any street in Britain and ask people what they think about politics, and most will tell you that it is broken, that they ‘don’t trust any of them’ – our politicians. In other words, they believe our system doesn’t work, or that it works only for a chosen few, the elites.
